As 2017 comes to an end, I’m reflecting back on my favorite products of the year! I’ve narrowed a list down to 7 top things that include my favorite podcast, skincare, and Spotify playlist. Enjoy and let me know your faves!
I got this set of 3 notebooks to write my morning pages and it’s been working wonderfully! They are light and thin enough to easily carry in your purse if needed. Also can we just admire the beautifully designed covers 😍. You can use them to journal, take quick notes, grocery list, to-do list, etc.
These bad boys are on my feet right now! I only recently got these shoes in September, but already they have been my most-worn shoes this year. I love how versatile these are. You can pair them with a cute summer dress or workout clothes as you run to and from the gym. And of course they are so comfortable you can walk in these for hours, although expect several wears to fully break them in. They also secretly remind me of my 8th grade skater wannabe self 😏
My new daily bag in 2017! I often have trouble finding a purse that doesn’t overwhelm my petite frame, so I appreciate the drawstrings on this purse that cinch at the top for a bucket bag look. It transforms the typical Madewell tote into something a bit more unique. My mom got me this for my birthday and I’ve been using it every single day since! It’s comfortable, functional, and cute. What more can I ask for in an everyday bag 🙂 *quick note – it’s a bit too short to comfortably fit my MacBook Air so that’s a tiny bummer.
I tried a lot of different oils and serums this year in hopes of finding one that treated my acne-prone skin and pores while keeping my face moisturized. I finally found it! I got a sample of this Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil and saw results immediately. I went back to Sephora 2 days later and bought the bottle. The ingredients include salicylic acid, tea tree oil, black cumin seed oil, and chamomile. It’s especially a godsend when my skin goes crazy during my period week. If you want something to control your acne, minimize pores, and brighten your complexion.. try this 🙂 Quick warning – the smell is pretttty harsh.. but bearable!
I finally got hip to podcasts this year and have listened to several different series. I was first hooked on Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso but I eventually found NPR’s How I Built This with Guy Raz and it quickly became my very favorite! It’s a podcast about entrepreneurs and innovators and the stories behind the products or movements they built. Guy does such a great job engaging with his guests, plus his voice is so captivating! I wish this man could read me a bed time story every night. If you’re interested in the slightest about entrepreneurship, give this podcast a try! Some of my favorites include Spanx: Sarah Blakely, Airbnb: Joe Gebbia, Zappos: Tony Hsieh, and Bumble: Whitney Wolfe. There are SO many more good ones. Go listen 🙂
Ugh I’m listening to this right now as I’m writing this post. I am so in love with this playlist! It gives you all the good feels and is perfect for all occasions. The playlist is all chill instrumental songs that can be played as background music while you work, cook, get ready for work, host a holiday party.. the options are endless! It’s a nice break from our “regular” or more mainstream music.
7. Instagram account: shutthekaleup
Just thought I’d throw this one in there. I started following the Jeannette’s Instagram account, shutthekaleup, this year (or maybe it was year?🤔) and really enjoy her content! Insta is full of health and wellness accounts nowadays, so it’s really a matter of finding which personality you mesh with most. She motivates me to workout when I’m feeling lazy, because she goes hard 4-5x/week and gets to eat like a beast. So basically that’s #goals.
