2017 was unlike any other. For the past 23 years of my life, I had structure in my life through school and work but this year was completely different. I graduated college last year and immediately took a full-time job in HR. After 8 unhappy months, I quit this past January. To everyone’s dismay, I left my corporate job without a backup plan. However it was a decision that I prayed a lot about to make sure it was in my heart’s best interest. Change is always scary but I had a new chapter to begin.
For me, 2017 was all about exploration! HR was not the path for me, so what was? 2017 was the year of listening to my intuition. It was the year of dusting off my creative side and putting it to work. It was the year of having zero pressure and expectations. It was the year of enjoying and simply being. And oh, the things that came along ❤ Let’s see 2017 in review

One of the first things I did during my period of funemployment was deep clean my room for a fresh start. I printed these gems to keep me inspired everyday.

February was such a confusing month. I began with picking up a part-time job at my yoga studio to have some sort of structure in my day while picking up extra cash. Then I started a YouTube channel! My first video posted was about my new Incognito braces 😀

First trip of 2017 was to NYC with Gabby to meet our friend Vickie who lives in Brooklyn. So much fun with my loves and I watched my first Broadway show! We saw Beautiful, a musical that tells the story of Carole King and it was wonderful 😍

May was kind of uneventful, but I did manage to find this gem. It was taken on a beautiful summer evening after class at CorePower in Georgetown.

June was also the month when I met my love! We didn’t take any pictures all month, but it was probably the best month of the year.

First photo and holiday celebrated together! We walked over to the Washington National Cathedral to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July.
July was so much fun and this day was one of my favorites. We went to the Bullpen during a Nationals game, had delicious tacos at Oyamel, and caught the summer sunset while walking through all of the monuments.

Nothing like a Hawaiian sunset. I was so fortunate to experience Hawaii this summer with my family. What a magical place on earth and in my heart! Can’t wait to go back one day.
Tim picked me up from the airport once I touched down from Hawaii and we drove 7 hours to Boston for a wedding weekend. The wedding also happened to fall on his birthday so there was much to celebrate! 🍾 After Boston, we drove an hour to New Hampshire to visit his family!

My 24th birthday surprise! The sweetest little setup complete with candles, red wine, a handwritten card, beautiful bouquet, fun balloons, and an iPhone charger because I mentioned 2 hours beforehand that mine broke ❤
When co-workers turn into forever friends. I love these girls so much! We took a short trip to California and it was an amazing time.
We ended the month with our second wedding together. Congratulations to my cousin and her husband ❤

As a part of my birthday gift, Tim took me to the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, VA for a weekend getaway. It was 72 and sunny with a peek of fall foliage. Such a lovely weekend ❤

I was so proud and happy to support my guy during his half marathon in Philly. By 10am he had ran 13.1 miles while I slept in and waited.
Fun fun weekend in Philly. #TullamoreDew

December is always a hectic month for everyone, but I’m so grateful I got to celebrate with my entire family on Christmas Eve. Another year where we’re all healthy, happy, and together ❤ Tim and I were each with our families in different states for Christmas, so we had our own little party a couple days later! He got me this beautiful bouquet that brought me to tears.
Camila’s birthday lands on Christmas day, so I decided to get together 12 of our closest friends for a surprise birthday celebration! She was genuinely so surprised and I couldn’t be happier! It was a perfect way to end the holidays.
This little post isn’t nearly exhaustive of all the incredible moments in 2017. I gained so much in terms of love, courage, patience, and joy this year and I am grateful.
2018, I’m ready for you!
